Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mark Munoz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Harvey Stripes!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Munoz shoots in but no luck this time.
Stripes thinks about the counter body kick.
Munoz tries for a takedown but Stripes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Stripes lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Munoz bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Stripes parries the strikes from Munoz easily there. Munoz is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stripes to escape.
Stripes is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Stripes dodges the ground and pound from Munoz.
Munoz throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Stripes is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Munoz working the ground and pound but Stripes is defending the strikes.
The ground and pound from Munoz seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Munoz working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Munoz is looking to take a break and control but Stripes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

We've been hearing that Munoz has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Munoz sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Stripes is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Munoz in side control lands a decent elbow.
Munoz lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Stripes down.
Stripes managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Munoz.

Munoz tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Munoz throws an elbow but Stripes slips to the side and avoids it well.
Munoz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Munoz looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Stripes is avoiding damage well.
Munoz is looking to take a break and control but Stripes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Munoz misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Munoz throws a strike aimed at the side of Stripes's head but Stripes avoids it well.

Stripes tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Munoz presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Munoz with shots to the head and body - Stripes looks very uncomfortable down there.

Stripes is bucking up trying to escape but Munoz cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Munoz landing shots from mount.
Munoz lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.


Stripes is rocked!
Munoz looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Stripes covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Munoz!
A relieved looking Mark Munoz thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
