Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stoney Mcweedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takehide Nakatani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcweedy's entrance music is James Brown - I feel good.. A fine choice. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcweedy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nakatani shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mcweedy counters with an inside leg kick.
Nakatani shoots and misses
and Mcweedy counters with a low kick, right behind Nakatani 's knee.

Stoney Mcweedy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takehide Nakatani.

Mcweedy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nakatani as he jumps to the side.
Nakatani bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Mcweedy gets back to half guard.
Mcweedy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Nakatani's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Nakatani's back!
Nakatani is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Mcweedy gets his way!
Mcweedy throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Nakatani!
Nakatani tries to escape but Mcweedy has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nakatani wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mcweedy, who protects the arm well.

Nakatani goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Mcweedy rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Nakatani's guard! Nice work there by Mcweedy!

Mcweedy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Mcweedy postures up and lands a big shot to Nakatani's brow.
Nakatani is looking for a triangle but Mcweedy pushes his legs off easily.
Nakatani has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mcweedy is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Nakatani.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nakatani can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mcweedy scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Nakatani to see if he's OK.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nakatani tries to buck Mcweedy off but Mcweedy is having none of it.

That's time! Mcweedy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Nakatani misses with a takedown
and Mcweedy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Nakatani working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mcweedy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mcweedy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Nakatani escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mcweedy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mcweedy is in close to Nakatani's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Mcweedy stands up from Nakatani's guard - Mcweedy perhaps looking for a knockout.
Nakatani shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Nakatani working for a guillotine from mount but Mcweedy is in no mood to give up.
Mcweedy sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mcweedy flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Nakatani is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mcweedy has his hands clasped together around Nakatani's back. He's all about the action.
Nakatani wants to work for an arm triangle but Mcweedy is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Nakatani is looking for a kimura but Mcweedy is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nakatani to get the leverage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mcweedy gets full guard.
Nakatani stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mcweedy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nakatani drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mcweedy manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nakatani has Mcweedy in his guard.

Stoney Mcweedy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Nakatani is looking for a triangle but Mcweedy pushes his legs off easily.

Nakatani had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mcweedy is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nakatani Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mcweedy's back instead.

Nakatani gets his hands free as Mcweedy looks to control.

Mcweedy manages to reverse the position and now he's in Nakatani's guard. Nice work there by Mcweedy.

Mcweedy wants to stand but Nakatani is controlling his posture from full guard.
Nakatani has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Mcweedy doesn't defend quickly enough and Nakatani has managed to lock this one up! Can Mcweedy escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Nakatani on a fantastic submission victory.
