Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Stoned (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronald Rousey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stoned's entrance music is Dr. Dre - The Watcher. A fine choice. Rousey comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Creepy Jackalope Eye by Supersuckers kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oliver Stoned!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 13 - 1, fighting out of London, Ronald Rousey!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Rousey.

Stoned bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've been hearing good reports from Stoned's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Rousey is trying to escape the position but Stoned is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rousey felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stoned thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rousey's head.

Rousey takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Stoned scores with a hook to the body. Rousey takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Stoned shoots for a double leg takedown but Rousey sprawls well. He's pushed Stoned's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Stoned on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Stoned throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Stoned throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Rousey.
Rousey throws a body punch but Stoned moves out of range.
Stoned appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Rousey moves out of range of the leg kick from Stoned.
Stoned misses with an attempted mid kick.
And Rousey tries to counter it with a takedown but Stoned pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Rousey throws the left hand but Stoned avoids the punch easily.
Stoned tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rousey defends well and Stoned ends up having to push Rousey into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Rousey shoots in for a takedown but Stoned shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Stoned has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Rousey.

Stoned is looking to wear down Rousey with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Stoned wants to escape the position.
Stoned has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rousey is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Rousey gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Rousey gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Rousey apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Rousey goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A nice inside leg kick there by Rousey. That's going to slow Stoned down.

Stoned tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rousey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Stoned somewhat.

Rousey wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Stoned.
Stoned shoots in and drives through. Rousey sprawls well.

Horrible takedown attempt by Stoned or perhaps it was just good defense by Rousey, which made it look bad.

Stoned changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rousey tries to avoid it but Stoned manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rousey to the ground. Rousey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Stoned misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Stoned takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
You can see the frustration on Stoned's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Stoned is looking to reverse the position.

Rousey thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rousey sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Stoned is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Stoned tries to bench press Rousey off him but Rousey keeps the position.
Stoned is working hard here to advance position.
Rousey tries to advance to mount but Stoned denies him.
Stoned manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Rousey takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Rousey is looking for a kimura but Stoned is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rousey to get the leverage.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Oliver Stoned.
I think Stoned has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
