Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carl Park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carl Park! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frank Franklin! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franklin throws a leg kick that misses. Franklin tries to clinch but Park is having none of it. Franklin misses with a combination
and Park makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Franklin really felt that one! Park shoots in but no luck this time. Park forces Franklin back against the cage and clinches. Franklin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Franklin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Franklin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Park sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Franklin darts in and clinches Park up against the cage. Park tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Franklin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Franklin is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Frank Franklin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Franklin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Park manages to avoid it. Park shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Franklin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Park clinches with his opponent.
Park blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Franklin blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Park keeps control of Franklin as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Franklin is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Park is trying to drag Franklin to the mat but Franklin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carl Park. That's going to take a lot out of him. Franklin manages to break the clinch.
Franklin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Park lands with a thumping leg kick.
Franklin shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Park wants to clinch. Franklin drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Park defends it well. Franklin leaves Park with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Franklin steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Park. Franklin tries to clinch up but Park circles away and keeps his distance. Franklin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Park manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Park keeps the fight on the outside. Park drops down looking for a counter takedown but Franklin sprawls and moves away. Park moves in looking to clinch but Franklin pushes him off. Franklin clinches up with Park and pushes him back against the cage.

Franklin presses Park against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Franklin stalls. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Franklin landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Frank Franklin dominated that round. That's time! Park's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Park scores with a hook to the body. Franklin takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Park throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Franklin's head. Franklin closes the distance and clinches. Park tries to break the clinch but Franklin is controlling the position. Park trying to stall but Franklin improves his position.
Park wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Park tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Franklin smiles and moves away.
Franklin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Park defends it nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Franklin with a poor takedown and Park counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's one minute gone in the round. Franklin has had enough of the clinch but Park keeps him there for the moment. Franklin's coach down at The Hut - $50 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Franklin's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Park tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Park looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Franklin jumps guard and drags Park to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Park looking to pass the guard. Park passes Franklin's left leg - he's now in half guard. Franklin trying to control from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Franklin is trying to get back to full guard. Park throwing shots but Franklin is blocking nicely. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Franklin trying to control here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Park is keen to just control but Franklin is a slippery customer. Park will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Franklin is trying to control but can't.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Franklin looks to score with a jab to the body but Park is just out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Park has Franklin up against the cage in a clinch.

Franklin tries to pull guard but Park forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Franklin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Park throws a push kick but Franklin slaps the foot to one side. Park circles away from the clinch attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Franklin shoots in for a double leg but Park sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Park lands with a kick to the temple. Franklin shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Franklin closes the distance and clinches. Franklin tries to pull guard but Park holds him up against the cage and eventually Franklin drops back down to his feet.

It looks like Carl Park has been cut. Franklin wants to clinch and Park counters with a big head kick but Franklin shrugs it off.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Franklin tries to break the clinch but Park is controlling the position. Franklin manages to break the clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Franklin. No joy for Park on that attempt. Franklin drives through and clinches with Park against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Franklin unloads a knee to the mid-section. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Park on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Come on Franklin - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Franklin pulls guard. Franklin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Park. Park trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Park lands a couple of elbows. Franklin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Park is one step ahead there. Park passes Franklin's left leg - he's now in half guard. Park thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Franklin's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Franklin blocking the ground and pound attempt from Park. Franklin is looking to improve his position.
Park is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Park connects with a nice short shot to Franklin's temple. Park throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Franklin is looking to improve his position.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Carl Park. I think Park has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
