Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charles Bronson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guilherme Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bronson comes into the arena with Death to the apple gerls blaring out of the sound system. Alves has chosen Guerreiro by Curumin as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
35 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charles Bronson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
30 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Guilherme Alves! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bronson connects with a nice looking jab.
Alves scores with a shot to the body.
Bronson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Alves avoids the body shot from Bronson.
Alves throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Alves has closed the distance and engaged Bronson in a clinch.

Alves throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Bronson stalling in the clinch but Alves improves position. Bronson tries to stall but Alves uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Bronson looks to throw an elbow but misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alves lands a nice shot to the body. Alves unloads a knee to the mid-section. Bronson lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Bronson misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Alves creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Bronson's defenses. Bronson working aggressively here.
Bronson's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves cracks Bronson with a nice body shot. Alves pushes off an throws an elbow but Bronson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Bronson blocks a body shot from Alves. Alves misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Bronson tries to throw a body punch but Alves avoids it by throwing Bronson back against the cage. Bronson swings wildly with an uppercut but Alves uses good head movement to avoid it. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Alves has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Bronson avoids the elbow strike from Alves, against the cage.

Alves works on Bronson's body with a couple of short punches. Alves tightens his grip and picks Bronson up, before dumping him to the ground. Bronson manages to land in guard. Bronson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bronson keeping full guard, as Alves tries to pass. Alves throwing strikes from guard but Bronson blocks nicely. Alves with a nice head shot there. Alves throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bronson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Alves throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Alves passes into half guard. Alves keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves not landing any meaningful shots this time. Alves is trying to control the action in half guard but Bronson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Alves with the ground and pound but Bronson uses the opportunity to regain guard. Bronson controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alves postures up and lands a big shot to Bronson's brow. Alves works a leg free and moves into half guard. Alves has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Alves throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Bronson to regain full guard. Bronson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Alves trying to control but Bronson is working from the bottom. Alves stops Bronson from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bronson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Bronson scores with a decent looking hook. Alves throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Alves fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bronson, pushing him back against the cage. Alves lands a right hand that snaps the head of Bronson backwards. Alves pulls guard. Bronson is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Alves has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Bronson is looking to defend but Alves has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Bronson! Alves pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Bronson taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Guilherme Alves! Guilherme Alves gave a mention to Tokyo United Fightwear in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
