Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Finnegan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buster Napoleon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Finnegan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Buster Napoleon!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finnegan lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Finnegan.


It looks like Buster Napoleon has been cut.

Napoleon instigates a clinch.
A short uppercut from Napoleon.


It looks like Chris Finnegan has been cut.
Finnegan looking for a takedown.

Finnegan is fighting off a takedown attempt but Napoleon is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Finnegan to the mat. Finnegan regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Napoleon stops Finnegan from standing up.
Finnegan is trying to control the position but Napoleon postures up.

Napoleon drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Finnegan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Napoleon has Finnegan in his guard.


Napoleon is looking for a triangle here but Finnegan uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Finnegan slows the pace down.

Napoleon is trying to get back to half guard.
Napoleon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Finnegan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
You can see the frustration on Napoleon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Napoleon is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Finnegan is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Finnegan is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Napoleon is defending well though. Finnegan let's go of the attempt for now.

Finnegan throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Finnegan tries to clinch there but Napoleon circles away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Napoleon! But no joy.
Napoleon paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Finnegan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Napoleon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Napoleon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Finnegan sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Finnegan is looking to counter the offense by Napoleon and move into the clinch.
Finnegan doesn't manage to clinch there - Napoleon circles away.

Napoleon clinches up against the cage.

Napoleon is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Finnegan can't fight it off and eventually Napoleon manages to take the fight to the floor. Finnegan looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Napoleon wants to control from the top but Finnegan keeps moving.

Napoleon is pulling down on Finnegan's head to control his posture.

Napoleon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Napoleon is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Finnegan pulls his head out easily.

Finnegan performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Napoleon is looking for a sweep. Finnegan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Finnegan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Napoleon can do anything to dispel that myth.
Napoleon is trying to get back to full guard.

Napoleon looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Finnegan seems to be working for a kimura but Napoleon defends the submission attempt.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Napoleon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Finnegan swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Napoleon throws a hook but Finnegan blocks it.
Finnegan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Finnegan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Finnegan is defended easily by Napoleon.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Finnegan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Napoleon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Finnegan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Napoleon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Finnegan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Napoleon drops back, looking for a kneebar! Finnegan looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Finnegan looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Finnegan!

Buster Napoleon has got the better of the ground game so far.

Napoleon tries to improve position but can't.
Napoleon is not content to let Finnegan control the position.
Napoleon is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Finnegan off and has taken his back!

Napoleon gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Finnegan wants to control his opponent's hands but Napoleon gets his hands free.
Napoleon lands punches and elbows.

Napoleon is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Napoleon is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Finnegan defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Napoleon lands an elbow to the side of the head.


Jeez, Chris Finnegan's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Chris Finnegan's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
