Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerico Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Oliva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Xavier Oliva struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping body kick lands there for Oliva.
Mendez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Oliva moves into the clinch.

Oliva pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Oliva has closed the distance and engaged Mendez in a clinch.
Mendez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Oliva just stands there and leans against the cage.

Mendez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Oliva has Mendez pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mendez manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
