Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Junior Bowers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Danio Weber! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bowers closes the distance and clinches. Bowers avoiding damage as Weber throws knees to the body.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Weber. Bowers successfully pulls guard.
Bowers will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Bowers is trying to keep Weber in close.
Weber trying to control but Bowers is working from the bottom. Weber avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Bowers is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Bowers thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Weber got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bowers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Weber has managed to get both his arms back between Bowers's legs - danger averted. Bowers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Weber can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Bowers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Weber engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Weber must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bowers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Weber doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Weber manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Bowers is breathing heavily. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Bowers throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bowers has momentary wrist control but Weber slips an elbow through the middle. Bowers wants to sweep here but Weber controlling him for the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Bowers shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Weber's guard. Weber has Bowers pulled in close to control his posture. Weber tries to land a sweep but no joy. Bowers in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Weber is looking to stand up but Bowers isn't so interested in that idea. Bowers trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Weber wants to stand but Bowers is controlling the position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Weber wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Weber clinches. Bowers drags the fight down to the ground.
My spies in Cozad MMA London inform me that Weber has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bowers is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Weber is aware though and is defending well. Weber seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Junior Bowers dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Weber lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bowers circles away quickly and effectively. Weber swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bowers drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Weber looks to move to half guard but instead Bowers has passed into mount! Damn! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bowers lands a heavy elbow. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Weber is wriggling around trying to escape.
Bowers can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Weber is looking to escape. Weber is breathing heavily. Bowers is trying to take his opponent's back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bowers scoring with strikes but Weber is staying in there. Weber avoids a strike by Bowers and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Bowers's guard! Fantastic escape!

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Weber motions for Bowers to come forward. Weber throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Danio Weber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Weber tries to sprawl but Bowers drives through with a takedown into half guard. Bowers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Weber blocking the ground and pound attempt from Bowers. Bowers slows the pace down in half guard.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Weber tries to sprawl but Bowers drives through with a takedown into half guard. Weber pushes Bowers off looking to stand but Bowers dives back in and keeps control.

Bowers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Weber keeps working. Bowers is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Weber gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bowers with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Bowers trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bowers trying to control but Weber is working from the bottom. Bowers in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Bowers throws a big right hand that misses. Weber wants to stand and escape but Bowers is having none of it. Weber pulls Bowers in close to his closed guard and prevents Bowers from doing any damage or advancing position.

Weber content to stall in guard here. Weber content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Danio Weber has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Junior Bowers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Weber thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Junior Bowers showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bowers, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
