The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lukaku thuds his right hand into Thiago's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lukaku feints a jab promting Thiago to slip. Lukaku then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Thiago slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Lukaku lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Thiago fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

and Thiago counters with a crisp one two that drops Lukaku ! Thiago thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Lukaku to his feet! Lukaku is in big trouble!

Lukaku rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Thiago moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Romelu Lukaku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thiago cracks Lukaku on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Lukaku falls backwards against the ropes. Thiago follows up with more strikes that drop Lukaku to his knees. Thiago keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Lukaku ! This one is all over!

After winning the bout, Jorge Thiago thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
