Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Roach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Axel Karlsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bobby Roach! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Axel Karlsson! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roach throws a leg kick but Karlsson sees it coming and checks it nicely. Roach throws a shot from downtown. Karlsson moves away and avoids it. Karlsson throws a low kick, looking for Roach's leg but Roach calmly moves out of range. Roach attempts a counter takedown but Karlsson avoids it well and moves away. Roach throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Karlsson sees it coming and avoids it easily. Roach shoots in and bounces Karlsson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Karlsson trying to control the position.
Roach advances to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roach wants to pass to mount but Karlsson is defending the position. Roach with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roach's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Roach trying to pass the guard but Karlsson defending well. Roach thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Roach slows the pace down in half guard. Roach is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Karlsson has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Well, if Roach is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Roach throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roach is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Karlsson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Roach. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roach looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Roach has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Roach lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Karlsson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Roach. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Roach with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Roach passes to full mount! Roach is trying to take his opponent's back.
Roach lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Roach scores with a couple of good head shots there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bobby Roach dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Roach tries a head kick but it misses.
Roach shoots for a takedown but Karlsson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Karlsson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Roach. Karlsson throws out a leg kick but Roach moves out of range and Karlsson only half commits. Roach throws a nice looking combination but Karlsson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. A little jabbing left from Karlsson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. A cross from Roach lands. Karlsson misses with a low kick. Karlsson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Karlsson throws a lazy right hand but Roach sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Karlsson throws a hook to the side of Roach's head but Roach sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Roach connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Karlsson momentarily.
Roach is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Karlsson can do to turn this around? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roach dodges the punch combination from Karlsson.
Karlsson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Karlsson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Roach.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karlsson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Roach moves away. Karlsson misses with a hook. Roach ducked under it nicely. Roach missing with a left hand there. Karlsson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Karlsson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Roach. Karlsson is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Roach with a body shot. Karlsson looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Bobby Roach seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Roach with a hook. A good leg kick by Roach. Karlsson thows a left - swing and a miss! Roach throws a leg kick that misses. Roach chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Karlsson can pounce on him.
Karlsson throws a sloppy head kick and Roach moves out of range easily. Roach avoids the head kick by Karlsson.
Karlsson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Roach checks a leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roach ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Karlsson moves away. Axel Karlsson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Karlsson takes one to the side of the head.
A combination from Roach does no damage. Karlsson throws a head kick but Roach moves out of range.
Bobby Roach is winning the standup battle so far. This has been an exciting period of action! Roach throws a good cross that connects.
Karlsson connects with a solid leg kick. Karlsson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Roach bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Roach is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Karlsson's shoulder. That is not cool. Roach looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Roach has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Karlsson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Roach yanks on the arm and Karlsson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Roach.
