Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jase Biggs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jun Li Chen! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Biggs shoots for a double leg takedown but Chen sprawls well. He's pushed Biggs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Chen slaps away a takedown attempt from Biggs, before circling back to the center of the mat. Biggs displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Chen. Chen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Chen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Biggs is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Biggs prevents Chen from moving into mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Biggs is trying to control Chen's posture but Chen avoids it. Chen throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chen tries to move to mount but Biggs blocks the move with his legs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chen lands a nice forearm strike. Chen has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Biggs! Chen has hold of Biggs's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Biggs manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
You get the feeling that Biggs really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Chen looking for a guillotine from mount but Biggs is having none of it. Biggs taking shots to the head. Chen avoids the attempt from Biggs to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chen scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Biggs?
Chen is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Biggs can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Chen prevents Biggs from getting the reversal. Biggs wants to try and get back to his feet. Chen in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Biggs is looking to improve his position but Chen isn't that keen on the idea. Chen sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Biggs wants to control but Chen is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chen wants to control the pace but Biggs is squirming around nicely. Biggs wants to control but Chen is having none of it. Chen is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Chen!
