Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hughtavious Mingo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Durham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Durham has chosen Fresh Like Us as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Durham!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Columbo Gatti and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mingo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Durham slips a jab and a cross from Mingo.
Durham throws out a counter right but Mingo avoids it with no problem.
Mingo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mingo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Durham counters with a left and a right that stings Mingo.
Mingo jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Durham is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Mingo with a body shot.
Mingo scores with a sloppy right hand. Durham should have avoided that one.
Mingo has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Mingo throws a body punch but Durham moves out of range.
Durham unleashes a big counter combination but Mingo bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Mingo swings for the body but Durham moves out of range.
And Durham tries to counter it with a takedown but Mingo pushes his down on his head and steps out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A combination from Mingo does no damage.
Mingo looks to land a right hand but Durham moved out of range.
Durham drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Mingo defends it well.
Durham steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mingo.
Durham is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Durham slips under a jab.
Durham with the counter takedown but Mingo avoids it easily.
A shot to the liver by Mingo. Beautiful body shot.
Mingo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Durham with the counter takedown but Mingo avoids it easily.
Durham ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Mingo moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Durham uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mingo.
Mingo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mingo misses with a looping left.
Durham shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mingo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Durham.
A little jabbing left from Durham on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Mingo cracks Durham with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Mingo has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Durham to stand back up!


Durham is rocked!


It looks like Joe Durham has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mingo drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Durham's head, knocking him out cold! Mingo is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Hughtavious Mingo!

An out of breath Hughtavious Mingo thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
The defeated Joe Durham had this to say: 'Man I felt we had the right gameplan to achieve the victory here tonight but I guess we didn't... but I say I will be back fighting for the champion again and face that man again...hats off to him though for the victory'.
