Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ricky McBride!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Luciano dos Santos Souza!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Souza shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Souza was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Souza has hold of McBride's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and McBride manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Souza goes for an armbar but McBride turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from McBride.

McBride avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Souza has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. McBride is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Souza.

McBride tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Souza tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but McBride presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
McBride looking to control but Souza is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

McBride stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Souza shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Souza drops back, looking for a kneebar! McBride looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McBride looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McBride!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Souza manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

McBride is defending against the submission attempts here by Souza.

Souza is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McBride doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Souza.
McBride gets back to full guard.

McBride is trying to keep Souza in close.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Souza is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! McBride is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! McBride has escaped and now he's on top!

Souza working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McBride doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McBride manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
McBride tries to free his leg and advance position but Souza is retaining full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Souza is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but McBride pulls his head out easily.
McBride is looking to take a break and control but Souza is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Souza trying to get back to full guard but McBride takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Souza looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Souza looks for a takedown but McBride sprawls well.
McBride lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Souza backs up against the ropes.

It looks like Luciano dos Santos Souza has been cut.
Souza on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by McBride. McBride obviously looking to wear him down.
McBride closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Souza! McBride dives in looking to finish! Souza is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
