Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ernie Alvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Putznaya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Victor Putznaya told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ernie Alvin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Victor Putznaya! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alvin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Putznaya tries to avoid it but Alvin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Putznaya to the ground. Putznaya escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Putznaya throws a series of punches but Alvin avoids them all with ease. Putznaya misses with a two punch combination.
Putznaya misses with a few strikes there.
Putznaya throws the kick towards the body but Alvin avoids it. Putznaya throws a head kick but Alvin moves out of range.
Alvin shoots in and bounces Putznaya off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Alvin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Putznaya scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Putznaya's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Putznaya duly obliges. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Putznaya swinging wilding here.
Alvin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Alvin lands in his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alvin stops Putznaya from standing up. Putznaya looks gassed! Alvin trying to control but Putznaya is working from the bottom. Putznaya is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Alvin is controlling him. Alvin pushes down on Putznaya's leg and manages to get into half guard. Alvin is taking a breather. Putznaya says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Alvin tries to pass to full mount but Putznaya defends it. Putznaya wants to get back to his feet. Putznaya is staying active underneath Alvin, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Alvin seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Putznaya is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Ernie Alvin!
