Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Connor O Doherty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodieleo Pefant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Doherty closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - O Doherty lands in his opponent's guard. O Doherty postures up.
Pefant wants to get back to his feet but O Doherty is in a dominant position and won't allow it. O Doherty gets to his feet. Pefant looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! A punch combination from Pefant misses. Pefant throws a head kick that misses. Pefant throws a head kick that misses. Pefant lands a high kick to the side of O Doherty's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Pefant dives into guard, looking to finish.

O Doherty changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pefant looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Pefant tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. O Doherty scores with punches and elbows. Pefant is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by O Doherty.

That's one minute gone in the round. What can Pefant do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Pefant has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. O Doherty scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Pefant is looking for a way out. O Doherty controls the position. Pefant tries to escape but O Doherty has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Pefant is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. O Doherty lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. O Doherty is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. O Doherty gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. O Doherty gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. O Doherty apologises and we restart here on the feet.
O Doherty closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pefant to the mat! Pefant manages to get full guard. Pefant working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. O Doherty doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. O Doherty manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. O Doherty passes into half guard. O Doherty lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. O Doherty is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Pefant tries to lock up and control but O Doherty gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. O Doherty looking to control and managing it successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

O Doherty decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. O Doherty lands a nice short elbow. Pefant is refusing to be controlled, as O Doherty sits in half guard. O Doherty has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. O Doherty lands a heavy elbow. Pefant is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Pefant takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Pefant is looking to get to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. O Doherty sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. O Doherty lands a nice shot to the head. O Doherty working the ground and pound effectively.
Pefant is squirming around, avoiding O Doherty's attempts to control the action. O Doherty cracks Pefant with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pefant looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Connor O Doherty overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. O Doherty biding his time, looking for the opening.

O Doherty is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Pefant. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Pefant is trying to get back to his feet but O Doherty has full control of the position and if anything, Pefant has just worked his way into a worse spot.

And that's the end of the fight! Connor O Doherty showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for O Doherty, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
