Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Edward Bravie! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Harry Gash! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bravie throws a push kick but Gash slaps the foot to one side. A countering left hand to the body from Gash misses. Gash misses with a wild body shot. Nice jab there from Bravie. Gash looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Gash blocks a low kick nicely. Bravie misses with a body shot.
Bravie connects with a single shot there. Bravie definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Gash tries to clinch up. Gash ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bravie moves away. Bravie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gash.
Gash moves out of range of the leg kick from Bravie. Gash defending well as Bravie loads up on a big left hand. Gash let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Bravie cracks Gash with a good jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bravie misses with an uppercut
and Gash counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Bravie fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gash. Gash misses with a wild body shot. Bravie lands with a nice body kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bravie misses with a looping left.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bravie cracks Gash with a left hand that drops him to the canvas, up against the cage! Can Gash get back up in time? 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... he's on one knee... 8, 9... he's up! 'Walk towards me' says the referee. Gash looks steady enough to continue so we're going to continue! Gash moves away from the strike by Bravie. Gash ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Gash takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Gash is rocked! Gash is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Bravie rather than just go for the knockout. Bravie circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Gash tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Bravie wins by KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Edward Bravie! Edward Bravie is the new heavyweight champion! During a confident post fight interview, Edward Bravie thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
