PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Wood Pecker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mads Schulz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pecker comes into the arena with The Woody Woodpecker Song (Short Intro) blaring out of the sound system. Schulz is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Leben. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pecker with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Pecker lands a right hook to the body.
Pecker scores with a jab to the jaw.

It looks like Mads Schulz has been cut.
Schulz displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pecker throws out the jab.
Schulz throws a hook to the side of Pecker's head but Pecker sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Pecker takes a swing at Schulz's ribcage but misses.

Pecker has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Hut - $50 in the buildup to the fight.
Schulz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Schulz tries to clinch up but Pecker circles away and keeps his distance.
Pecker is looking to counter punch.
Schulz takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Good standup being displayed there by Pecker as he connects with a hook.
Schulz walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A looping hook to the body misses from Pecker. Schulz does a little dance to reset his feet.
Pecker on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Pecker is looking to wear down Schulz with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Pecker lands a jab.

Pecker cracks Schulz with a left hand that drops him to the canvas, up against the cage! Can Schulz get back up in time? 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... he's on one knee... 8, 9... he's up! 'Walk towards me' says the referee. Schulz looks steady enough to continue so we're going to continue!

Schulz gets a clinch.

Pecker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Schulz takes one on the chin but seems OK.

That has opened up Mads Schulz's cut even more.
Pecker jabs Schulz to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Schulz blocks the body kick.
Schulz throws out a counter right but Pecker avoids it with no problem.
Pecker defending well as Schulz loads up on a big left hand.
Pecker tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pecker pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pecker sets himself, and Schulz steps forward looking for the clinch! Pecker avoids it this time.
Pecker keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Schulz.
Schulz ducks under a wild hook from Pecker.
Nice uppercut lands for Pecker. That snapped Schulz's head back.
Schulz swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pecker takes a shot right to the bread basket.

A decent looking cross lands there for Pecker.

Schulz is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The cut above Mads Schulz's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Schulz walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Schulz is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!
