Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vern Booker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Newby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyler Newby told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Booker misses the target.
Newby fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Newby bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Booker's head backwards.
Booker moves out of range of the body kick.
Newby scores with a kick to the body.
Booker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Booker avoids the body shot from Newby.
Newby lunges at Booker with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Booker's hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Good shot there by Newby.
It looks like Vern Booker has been cut.
Newby throws out a leg kick but Booker moves out of range and Newby only half commits.
Newby misses with a body shot
and Booker counters with a leg kick.

and Booker counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Newby moves into range and connects with a jab.
Newby digs a good body shot into Booker's ribs.
Booker could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Newby throws a head kick but Booker moves out of range.
Good work by Booker as he checks the leg kick.
Tyler Newby seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Booker moves away from the strike by Newby.
Booker on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Booker missing with a left hand there. Newby was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Newby darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Newby slips under a jab.
Newby feints a counter leg kick.
Newby throws a series of punches but Booker avoids them all with ease.

Booker wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Newby circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Booker drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Newby follows Booker to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
