Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Mantid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Loyotoson Machsilva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Mantid! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Loyotoson Machsilva! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machsilva throws a head kick but Mantid moves out of range.
Machsilva tries a head kick but it misses.
Machsilva ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mantid moves away. Mantid gets a takedown into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mantid in particular looking to stall. Machsilva looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Mantid sitting and controlling from the half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mantid prevents Machsilva from improving his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machsilva is trying to maintain the position but Mantid is very close to passing his half guard. Machsilva wants to improve his position but Mantid is controlling well.
Machsilva tries to kick Mantid off but Mantid keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Machsilva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mantid is working away from the top position though.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Mantid showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Machsilva.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mantid staying out of range there. Mantid shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Machsilva tries to reverse the position but Mantid maintains control. Mantid sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Mantid get's back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Machsilva throws a head kick that misses. Machsilva throws and low kick but Mantid moves out of range easily. Mantid gets the takedown into side control. Mantid wants to control but Machsilva is keeping him busy. Mantid is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Machsilva has escaped the position, nice work there. Mantid is breathing heavily. Mantid wants to lay and pray for a moment but Machsilva keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Machsilva's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Mantid working the ground and pound but Machsilva is defending the strikes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Machsilva trying to control but Mantid flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Machsilva wants to control his opponent's hands but Mantid gets his hands free. Mantid is trying to stick to Machsilva's back but Machsilva is turning into Mantid. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Mantid's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Machsilva. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rick Mantid dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Mantid shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Mantid wants to take a breather but Machsilva is having none of it. Machsilva is looking to control Mantid's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Machsilva avoid being mounted? Machsilva is looking to escape. Mantid wants to work for an arm triangle but Machsilva is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Machsilva regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mantid trying to control the position from guard on top but Machsilva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mantid postures up.
Mantid won't allow Machsilva to get back to his feet.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Machsilva doesn't manage to clinch there - Mantid circles away.

Machsilva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Machsilva throws a sloppy head kick and Mantid moves out of range easily. Mantid avoids the head kick by Machsilva.
Mantid drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mantid moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Mantid looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Mantid in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Machsilva gets back to half guard. Machsilva is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are battling for position here. Machsilva manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Machsilva trying to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Machsilva is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Machsilva is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Machsilva keeping moving, preventing Mantid from controlling successfully. Mantid looking to pass the guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Machsilva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rick Mantid dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Machsilva moves in looking to clinch but Mantid pushes him off. Mantid looks for a takedown but Machsilva sprawls well. Mantid moves out of range of the body kick. Machsilva misses with a body shot.

Machsilva ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Machsilva fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mantid bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Mantid tries for a kimura but Machsilva is defending well. Mantid trying to control the action but Machsilva is working from the bottom. Loyotoson Machsilva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mantid laying and praying for a moment but Machsilva takes advantage and regains half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Machsilva makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Mantid ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Machsilva misses with a takedown attempt and Mantid counters with a shoot takedown. Machsilva fights it but they end up in guard. Mantid trying to control the position from guard on top but Machsilva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Machsilva is looking for a triangle but Mantid pushes his legs off easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Rick Mantid showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mantid, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
