Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tyron Woodley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robbie Rockin! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Woodley steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rockin. Woodley avoids the body shot from Rockin.
Rockin lands a head kick. Woodley smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Woodley connects with a nice looking jab.
Woodley throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Woodley sets himself, and Rockin steps forward looking for the clinch! Woodley avoids it this time. A decent looking body kick lands there for Rockin. Woodley thuds a left hand into Rockin's body. Rockin throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Woodley misses with a wild body shot. Woodley misses with an uppercut. A nice inside leg kick there by Woodley. That's going to slow Rockin down. Woodley drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rockin tries to escape but Woodley is in control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rockin is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Rockin looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Woodley content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Woodley drops an elbow to the side of Rockin's head. Rockin pushes Woodley off looking to stand but Woodley dives back in and keeps control.
Woodley throwing shots but Rockin is blocking nicely. Rockin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Rockin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Woodley is controlling him. Woodley is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Fighting Fitness & Freedom that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Rockin wants to get back to his feet but Woodley passes into half guard.

Woodley feints and then cracks Rockin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rockin down. Robbie Rockin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rockin tries to clinch but Woodley moves away and Woodley counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Rockin keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Woodley. Woodley lands with a cross. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rockin throws a lazy body kick and Woodley counters with a straight right hand. Rockin slips a jab from Woodley. Woodley throws a body shot but no joy. Rockin sizes up Woodley with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Woodley throws a leg kick but Rockin checks it. Woodley tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Woodley misses with a few strikes there.
Woodley connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Woodley swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rockin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Rockin throws a head kick that half lands.

Tyron Woodley dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Woodley takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Woodley is looking to chop away at Rockin's legs. Rockin checks the leg kick nicely there.
Rockin slaps away a takedown attempt from Woodley, before circling back to the center of the mat. Rockin connects with a jab. Woodley swings for the body but Rockin moves out of range.
Woodley throws out a leg kick but Rockin moves out of range and Woodley only half commits. Rockin has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Woodley closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rockin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Rockin works his way to full guard. Good work. Rockin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Rockin keeping full guard, as Woodley tries to pass.

Rockin is adopting a defensive guard. Let's hope that Rockin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Rockin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Woodley works a leg free and moves into half guard. Tyron Woodley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rockin trying to control from the bottom.

Robbie Rockin seems to be getting the better of the standup. Woodley waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Rockin. This has been an exciting period of action! Horrible takedown attempt by Woodley or perhaps it was just good defense by Rockin, which made it look bad. Woodley takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. A nice leg kick lands there from Woodley. Woodley misses with a two punch combination.

Rockin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Woodley has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. That was a close second round but I would say that Tyron Woodley will probably get the nod. That's time! Woodley's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyron Woodley. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rockin cracks Woodley with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Rockin swings for the body but Woodley moves out of range.
Rockin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Woodley will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Rockin throws a sloppy head kick and Woodley moves out of range easily. Woodley went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Rockin delivers a nice body kick. Woodley throws a head kick that misses. Woodley throws a low kick but Rockin avoids it. Rockin throws a body kick that misses. and Woodley counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Rockin throws a right and a left that both miss. Rockin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Woodley.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rockin drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Rockin slips a jab and a cross from Woodley.

Woodley blocks a jab. Woodley throws a jab but it's blocked by Rockin. Rockin raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Woodley fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A countering left hand to the body from Rockin misses. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Woodley lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Rockin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Rockin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Woodley dives in and grabs Rockin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rockin pushes down on Woodley's head and hops out. Woodley throws a leg kick that is checked and Rockin counters with a head kick. Rockin misses with a head kick.
Woodley was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Woodley pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Robbie Rockin really dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Rockin crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Woodley - the referee stops the clock and Rockin gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Woodley. Rockin manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Woodley throws a series of punches but Rockin avoids them all with ease. Woodley shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rockin sprawls well. Rockin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Woodley gets slowly back to his feet. Rockin is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Rockin swings away with a leg kick that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Woodley takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Good leg kick by Rockin there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
