Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chris Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Utica Franks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown comes to the cage accompanied by Many Men by 50 Cent. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chris Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Utica Franks! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown rushes Franks and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Brown breaks the clinch.
Brown is looking to clinch. Brown circles away from the clinch attempt.
Franks scores with a nice body kick.
Brown moves into range and clinches up with Franks. Brown tries to pull guard but Franks won't allow it.
Brown gets control of Franks's arms and successfully pulls guard. Brown will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Franks pushes down on Brown's leg and manages to get into half guard. Franks wants to pass to mount but Brown is defending the position. Brown makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! An inside leg kick lands from Brown. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A head kick misses from Brown. Franks shoots in but no luck this time. Brown gets a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Franks moves into range and clinches up with Brown. Franks avoiding damage as Brown throws knees to the body.
Franks has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Brown regains guard immediately. Brown keeping moving, preventing Franks from controlling successfully. Brown is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Franks wanted to stand there but Brown had control of the position. Franks trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Brown has Franks pulled in close to control his posture. Franks must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Franks throws a big right hand that misses. Franks prevents Brown from getting back to his feet. Franks trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Brown connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Brown fails in his attempt to clinch. Brown tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Franks stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Franks wants it to stay on the feet. Franks shoots in and gets a takedown into Brown's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Brown looking for a sweep. Not yet Brown, not yet. Franks sitting in guard here, content to control. Franks works over Brown with some ground and pound from guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brown kicks Franks off and gets to his feet. Chris Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brown jabs Franks to the body, keeping him at a distance. Brown is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Franks now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Franks shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Brown connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Franks doesn't succeed with the takedown and Brown counters with a left to the body. Chris Brown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Utica Franks. Brown gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Franks looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brown is fending him off so far but Franks persists. Nope, Brown circles away and we're back to standing. Nice shot lands for Brown. Franks drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Franks tries to stand but Brown is controlling his head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brown is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Brown wants to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Franks seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Brown is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Utica Franks! Chris Brown was interviewed post fight and said 'Tonight was not my night, but i can promise all these great fans that I will be back and i will be better'.
