Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Maurice Lester! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Swebsik Swebster! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swebster feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Swebster in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Swebster lands a couple of elbows. Swebster won't allow Lester to sweep him here. Swebster throws a big elbow that misses. Lester avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Swebster throws a strike but Lester rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Lester wants to get up but he can't break Swebster's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Swebster is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Lester is standing up over Swebster. Swebster looks to escape but Lester dives into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Swebster takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swebster is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Lester is trying to ground and pound but Swebster uses the momentary lack of control by Lester to regain half guard. Swebster trying to hold on to Lester's head to control him but Lester postures up.
Lester thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Swebster's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Swebster trying to control but Lester postures up.
Swebster is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Lester is staying active. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Swebster can do anything to dispel that myth. Lester throwing shots but Swebster is blocking nicely. Swebster misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Swebster shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lester is trying to defend but Swebster finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Lester has hold of Swebster's hands but Swebster slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lester wants to get back to his feet. Swebster not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Lester is looking to escape. Lester has hold of Swebster's hands but Swebster slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Swebster missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Lester trying to hold on to Swebster's head to control him but Swebster postures up.
Swebster throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Swebster missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Swebster slips a nice elbow through Lester's hands, connecting with Lester's forehead. Swebster thows a huge punch but Lester dodges it nicely.
Lester moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Swebster distracts Lester with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Swebster must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Swebster throws an elbow that misses. Lester uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Swebster's guard. Nice move by Lester! Swebster looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Swebster trying to keep a closed guard but Lester is proving a slippery customer.
Swebster is looking to stand up but Lester isn't so interested in that idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Swebsik Swebster dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Swebster displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lester. Lester is trying hard to land a takedown here. Swebster sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Lester is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Swebster shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lester defends it nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Swebster fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lester shoots for a double leg takedown but Swebster sprawls well. He's pushed Lester's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maurice Lester. That's going to take a lot out of him. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Swebster. Swebster shoots in and bounces Lester off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Swebster throwing strikes from guard but Lester blocks nicely. Lester wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lester is looking to stand up but Swebster isn't so interested in that idea. Lester trying to control the position.

Lester is rocked! Swebster connects with a couple of short punches. Oh Lester is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Lester wants to stand but Swebster is controlling the position. Swebster postures up and lands a big shot to Lester's brow. Swebster arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Lester's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Swebsik Swebster! In his post fight interview, Swebsik Swebster started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
