Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Luger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hans Beck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beck has chosen Sepultura - Roots Boody Roots as his entrance music. Hans Beck told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
25 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Luger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hans Beck! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Paul Tew and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Luger throws a hook but Beck blocks it. Beck thinks about the counter body kick. Luger uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Beck. Beck scores with the left hand. Luger knows he should have avoided that one.
It looks like Shane Luger has been cut. Beck has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Luger is landing a low percentage of strikes. Beck avoids the body shot from Luger.
A big right from Beck misses. Luger swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Beck misses with a few strikes there.
Luger tried to counter with a leg kick but Beck avoided it. Luger throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Luger scores with a leg kick.
Luger throws a leg kick that is checked and Beck cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Luger cracks Beck with an open hand slap.
It looks like Hans Beck has been cut. Shane Luger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Luger throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Beck counters with a thumping low kick. Beck scores with a hook to the body. Luger takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Beck lunges at Luger with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Luger's hand. Beck slips a straight right by Luger. Beck appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. A head kick from Luger lands but Beck takes it in his stride.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beck connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Luger misses with a looping left. Beck has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Luger finds it's way round the side to connect with Beck's head. Beck tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Luger was well out of range. Poor timing from Beck. Beck throws a leg kick which misses Luger's front leg but catches the back leg as Luger tries to avoid it. Luger walks into a jab. Luger slips a straight right by Beck. Beck throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Luger just misses with a punch to the body.

A low kick from Luger misses and Beck counters with a nice low kick that buckles Luger's knee momentarily. Beck is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Luger. Beck wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A kick lands to the mid section there for Beck. Luger is breathing heavily. Beck connects with a single shot there.
Shane Luger's cut is getting worse. We've been told by Luger's head coaches at LOD: Contenders that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Beck throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Beck scores with a kick to the midsection. Beck cracks Luger with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Beck has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Luger to stand back up!
Luger is rocked! Beck fakes the leg kick and cracks Luger in the body. Oh Luger is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Beck lands a nice shot to the body.
Luger seems to have got his legs back now. Beck closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Luger! Beck dives in looking to finish! Luger is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hans Beck! A very excited looking Hans Beck made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
