Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Demarcus Potts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Harry Holliday! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Holliday has closed the distance and engaged Potts in a clinch.
Holliday is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Potts tries to pull guard but Holliday won't allow it.
Potts gets through Holliday's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Potts manages to pull guard.
Potts will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Potts looking to control.
Potts is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Holliday is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Holliday stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Potts swivels though and keeps the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Potts is trying to control the position but Holliday postures up. Holliday must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Potts is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Potts bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Holliday's guard. Potts missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Holliday is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Holliday looking for a sweep. Not yet Holliday, not yet. Potts throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Potts thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Holliday tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Potts loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Potts really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Holliday is working an open guard so Potts takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Potts tries to close the distance and clinch up but Holliday swats him away and circles back towards the center. Potts keeps the fight on the outside. Holliday scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
It looks like Demarcus Potts has been cut. Holliday misses with a body shot.
A head kick by Holliday misses and Potts counters by moving into the clinch. Potts tries to pull guard but Holliday forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Potts avoiding damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Holliday clinches with his opponent.

That was a close round but I would say that Demarcus Potts will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Demarcus Potts's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Potts checks a leg kick. No luck for Potts with that takedown attempt. Holliday appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Holliday connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Potts tumbling to the canvas! Holliday pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Potts was done - good stoppage!
