Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Chael Plouman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Aiken Abbott! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Plouman shoots in but Abbott avoids the takedown attempt easily. Plouman ducks under a wild hook from Abbott. Plouman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Abbott as he avoids it easily. Abbott only half commits to the counter leg kick. Plouman circles away from the clinch attempt.
Plouman tries for a takedown but Abbott circles away easily and Abbott counters with a slapping leg kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chael Plouman. That's going to take a lot out of him. That kick from Abbott tenderised Plouman's leg. Plouman is trying to keep his angry face on. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Abbott swings for the body but Plouman moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round. A low kick from Abbott is predictable there and Plouman counters with a single leg into guard. Abbott didn't expect that. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Plouman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Abbott looking to control.

Plouman trying to control but Abbott is working from the bottom. Abbott is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Plouman thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Plouman trying to control the position from guard on top but Abbott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Abbott can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Abbott tries to land a sweep but no joy. Plouman drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Plouman seems to have locked his on tight now - Abbott screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Plouman, as he picks up the win!
