Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Erik Babaretti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Dragic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Victor Dragic is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Erik Babaretti! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Victor Dragic! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Babaretti stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Babaretti wants it to stay on the feet. Dragic fails with a takedown attempt. Babaretti tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dragic manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Babaretti drives through and clinches with Dragic against the cage.
Babaretti misses with a short punch on the inside. Babaretti working Dragic over with knees to the body. Dragic trying to stall but Babaretti improves his position.
Dragic is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Babaretti to keep the fight standing. Erik Babaretti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Dragic. Dragic avoiding damage as Babaretti throws knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Babaretti looking to throw knees to the head but Dragic is blocking nicely.

Dragic is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Dragic has a closed guard, preventing Babaretti from standing up. Dragic seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Babaretti has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dragic is proving hard to escape from. Dragic is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Babaretti wants to stand but Dragic is controlling his posture from full guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Erik Babaretti is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Babaretti is looking to clinch. Dragic shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Babaretti but Babaretti pushes him off and we're back to square one. Babaretti is looking to counter with head kicks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Babaretti.
A head kick misses from Babaretti. Dragic on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Dragic shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Babaretti gets full guard. Dragic postures up.
Dragic trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Babaretti working a defensive guard here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Dragic lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Babaretti not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Dragic content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Babaretti is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dragic fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Babaretti sprawls well initially but Dragic persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Dragic drops an elbow to the side of Babaretti's head. Dragic throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dragic takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Babaretti holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Dragic lands strikes from half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Erik Babaretti will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Dragic changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Babaretti chopping away at his opponent's legs.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dragic. Babaretti throws a quick counter kick to the body but Dragic avoids it. Dragic keeps the fight on the outside. Babaretti lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Babaretti tries to land a front kick but Dragic steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Dragic gets tackled into the cage by Babaretti. Babaretti maintains the clinch. Babaretti is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dragic can do to turn this around? Dragic fails to pull the fight into his guard.
