Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boyce Fields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gautama Buddha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gautama Buddha looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Boyce Fields!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gautama Buddha!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buddha shoots in looking for a takedown but Fields manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Buddha's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Fields is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Buddha will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A little feinted left hand from Fields on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Fields closes the distance and clinches.

Fields successfully pulls guard.
Fields really is a fat lump.
Buddha trying to control the position from guard on top but Fields is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Buddha keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Fields's head.
Buddha throws a big right hand that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Buddha looking to sit in guard and control but Fields gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Fields wants to control from the top but Buddha keeps moving.
Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Las Vegas inform us that Buddha has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Buddha is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Fields won't allow Buddha to sweep him here.
Fields wants to stand but Buddha is controlling his posture from full guard.
Fields has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Buddha is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fields feints and as Buddha raises his hands in defense, Fields changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Buddha can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fields controls the pace.

Fields wants to get up but he can't break Buddha's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Fields is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Buddha shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fields as he jumps to the side.

Fields closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Buddha is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Fields is controlling him well.

Fields is really struggling to control Buddha but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Buddha parries the strikes from Fields easily there. Fields is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Buddha to escape.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Buddha fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fields avoids it really well and circles away.
Fields was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Buddha thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fields's head.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Buddha connects with a nice short shot to Fields's temple.

Buddha thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fields is trying to control but can't.
Boyce Fields overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Buddha with the ground and pound but Fields uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Buddha postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Fields will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That was a close second round but I would say that Boyce Fields will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Fields shoots in but Buddha avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Fields tries to kick Buddha off but Buddha keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fields shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Buddha but Buddha pushes him off and we're back to square one.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Buddha shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fields manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Buddha throws an elbow that misses. Fields uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Buddha's guard. Nice move by Fields!

Fields leaves Buddha with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Buddha.

Fields drives through with a takedown into Buddha's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Buddha closes the distance and clinches up with Fields, looking for a takedown. Buddha pushes Fields against the cage but Fields circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Gautama Buddha comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fields has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
