Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Boyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Irgam Rasec (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steve Boyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Irgam Rasec!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasec misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rasec throws a left and a right that both miss
and Boyer counters with a left and a right that stings Rasec.
Nice takedown defense from Rasec. No joy for Boyer on that attempt.
Rasec takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Rasec clinches with his opponent.

Boyer manages to break the clinch.
Boyer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Rasec clinches.

Rasec decides to pull guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Boyer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Rasec working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Boyer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Boyer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Boyer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rasec works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Boyer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Boyer stands up over Rasec, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Boyer is looking to work some ground and pound but Rasec has wrist control.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Rasec is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rasec shoots in looking for a takedown but Boyer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rasec's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Rasec scores with a punch to the head.

Rasec instigates a clinch.
Boyer gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Rasec.
Rasec prevents the takedown attempt.
Rasec has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Boyer is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Steve Boyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Irgam Rasec.
Rasec gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Boyer.
Boyer wants to break free but Rasec has control.

Boyer jumps guard and drags Rasec to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Rasec missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Rasec has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Rasec slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Rasec pushing down on Boyer's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Rasec content to control rather than advance.
Rasec's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Rasec throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rasec trying to pass the guard but Boyer defending well.

Rasec gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Rasec clinches.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Boyer has had enough of the clinch but Rasec keeps him there for the moment.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Rasec creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Rasec presses Boyer against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Boyer is fighting off a takedown attempt but Rasec is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Boyer to the mat. Boyer regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Irgam Rasec dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Rasec shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Boyer pinned against the cage. Boyer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rasec misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Boyer on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Boyer wants to clinch
and Rasec counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Boyer thinking.
Steve Boyer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rasec keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Rasec looks for a takedown but Boyer sprawls well.

Boyer tries to close the distance and clinch but Rasec swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Boyer moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromRasec.
Rasec dives in and grabs Boyer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Boyer pushes down on Rasec's head and hops out.
Boyer seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Rasec shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Boyer but Boyer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rasec.
Rasec is breathing heavily.
Boyer with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Boyer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Boyer is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Rasec.

Boyer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rasec.

Rasec closes the distance and clinches.
Rasec drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Boyer is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rasec to keep the fight standing.

Rasec should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A close second round but Irgam Rasec will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Boyer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rasec is fending him off so far but Boyer persists. Nope, Rasec circles away and we're back to standing.
Rasec shoots in for a takedown but Boyer shows good takedown defense.

Rasec gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Boyer is looking to take this one to the mat.
Boyer tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rasec smiles and moves away.

Rasec has control of Boyer's left arm, preventing Boyer from doing any damage.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Rasec takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Nice defenses there by Rasec.
Rasec shoots for a takedown but Boyer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Boyer closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Boyer is trying to break the clinch but Rasec is controlling him.

Boyer wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Rasec looking for a takedown.
Boyer prevents Rasec from breaking the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Rasec's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Boyer tries to pull guard but Rasec won't allow it.
Rasec is looking to take this one to the mat.
Rasec is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Boyer pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Rasec prevents the takedown attempt.

Boyer has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Rasec regains guard immediately.
Rasec seems keen to control Boyer's posture.

Boyer lands a couple of elbows.
Rasec wants to sweep but no luck.
Boyer stops Rasec from standing up.
Boyer scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Rasec kicks Boyer off and gets to his feet.

Rasec instigates a clinch.

Irgam Rasec seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Irgam Rasec.
I've got Rasec winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
