Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Tommy Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, James Phillips!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones looks to land a right hand but Phillips moved out of range.
The fighters circling - Jones throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jones misses with an uppercut.
Jones throws a looping overhand right but Phillips ducks down to avoid it.
A slow jab from Jones misses its intended target.
Phillips takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Tommy Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Phillips shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jones's guard.
Phillips seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Jones is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Phillips closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Phillips lands in his opponent's guard.

Jones bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Phillips's head backwards.

Jones uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Phillips has time to react.
Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Phillips shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but Phillips is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Phillips looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Tommy Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Phillips takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
James Phillips is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
