Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Crawford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kasak Kusuk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Crawford has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Crawford! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kasak Kusuk! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Topper Green and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crawford closes the distance and clinches. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Crawford creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Crawford lands with a short shot to the head. Crawford stalling in the clinch.
Kusuk wants a takedown but no success here.
Crawford digs a right hand underneath Kusuk's ribcage. Kusuk let out a lung full of air as it connected. Crawford could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Kusuk jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Crawford walks away with a smile on his face. Kusuk gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Crawford darts in and clinches Kusuk up against the cage. Crawford breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Crawford pushes Kusuk up against the cage in a clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Crawford. Crawford holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Crawford lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Kusuk backwards. Crawford manages to pull guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Crawford looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kusuk has picked Crawford up and slammed him! Crawford can't keep hold of the triangle and Kusuk manages to pass to side control! Crawford is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Kusuk has just dragged him back down to the mat. Crawford knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kusuk on the ground. Kusuk lands a decent elbow from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kusuk scoring with punches from side control. Check out the look on Kusuk's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Kusuk prevents Crawford from escaping the position. Kusuk lands some shots froms side control. Crawford wants to get back to his feet. Kusuk wants to control but Crawford is keeping him busy. Crawford is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kusuk asserts his dominance and retains side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Crawford on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Kusuk has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kusuk gets to mount! Crawford was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Kusuk lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Kusuk postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Crawford looks a forlorn figure.
Crawford looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Crawford is looking to improve his position but Kusuk isn't that keen on the idea. The referee warns Crawford that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Crawford on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Crawford tries to get out of the position. Kusuk lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Crawford hang on? Kusuk pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Crawford is trying to stand. Kusuk unloading with bombs! Kusuk is in the full mount, landing strikes. Crawford might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Crawford's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Kusuk in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kusuk postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Crawford looks a forlorn figure.
Crawford is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Kusuk quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Kusuk but it's paid off an Crawford is forced to tap! Nice work by Kusuk.
