Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Draga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pat Andes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Pat Andes enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ivan Draga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pat Andes!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Draga scores a takedown into full mount!
Andes is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Andes wants to get back to his feet.
Andes tries to reverse the position but Draga maintains control.
Draga wants to control the pace but Andes is squirming around nicely.
Andes wants to hold on but Draga pushes him away.
Andes is trying to escape the mount.

Draga with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Andes tries to lock up and control but Draga gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Draga blocks Andes's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Draga looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Draga is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Andes has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Andes!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Draga working for a triangle but Andes defends it easily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Draga is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Andes is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Andes wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Draga tries to land a knee to the head but Andes blocks with his arms.
Draga jumps guard but Andes stands there with Draga around his waist. Draga gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Draga is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Draga prevents Andes from breaking the clinch.
Andes lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Draga throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Andes blocks it with crossed arms.
Andes wants to get back to striking at distance but Draga won't allow it.
Draga tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Andes turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Draga really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Draga is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Andes is looking to take a break and control but Draga is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Draga tries to improve position but can't.

Andes takes a little break here. Draga wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Andes has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Draga!

Andes is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Draga has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Draga!

Andes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Draga doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Draga manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Pat Andes will probably get the nod.
That's time! Draga's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Draga shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Andes but Andes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Andes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Andes decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Draga clinches.
Andes prevents a takedown attempt there.
Draga throws a knee to the head but misses.
Andes can't break the clinch.

Andes decides to pull guard.

Andes scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Andes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Andes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Draga is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Draga tries to reverse the position but Andes maintains control.

Andes controlling the pace for now.
Draga is looking to get to half guard.
Andes controlling his opponent.

Andes's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Draga tries to lock up and control but Andes gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Andes swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Draga is now in Andes's guard. A big mistake from Andes there, giving up the dominant position!
Draga stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Andes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Andes keeping moving, preventing Draga from controlling successfully.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Andes. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Draga thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Andes looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Andes is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Draga dives into side control.

Draga is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Draga wants to stand up but Andes has a hold of him and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pat Andes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Andes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Andes has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Draga is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Andes.
Andes is looking for a sweep.

Andes takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Andes tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Draga trying to control the action but Andes is working from the bottom.
Andes tries to bench press Draga off him but Draga keeps the position.

Draga decides to stand up, so the ref orders Andes to his feet.
Draga wants to clinch
and Andes counters with a left and a right that stings Draga.
Andes stuffs the takedown attempt from Draga. Draga gets slowly back to his feet.
Andes misses with a series of wild punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and Andes counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Draga wants to improve his position but Andes is controlling well.
Pat Andes has got the better of the ground game so far.

Andes is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Draga doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Andes.

Andes has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Draga defend it? Andes steps over the head and cranks it - Draga is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Andes!
