Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nari Vari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Baumgartner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vari closes the distance and clinches.

Vari feints and as Baumgartner raises his hands in defense, Vari changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Baumgartner darts in looking for a takedown but Vari gets double underhooks and turns Baumgartner into the cage.

Vari throws the left hand but Baumgartner avoids the punch easily.
Baumgartner connects with a body shot that sends Vari's belly button to the back.

Vari escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Baumgartner counters with a nice uppercut.
Baumgartner takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Nice shot lands for Baumgartner.
Baumgartner stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Baumgartner is pawing at Vari, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Vari's nose. Vari is badly hurt! Baumgartner pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Vari tries desperately to hold on but Baumgartner is relentless in his assault! As Vari receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Baumgartner away and this one is in the books!

Roger Baumgartner tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
