Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Elijah Modnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Star Dust (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dust has chosen Die for Metal as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Elijah Modnar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Star Dust! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dust clobbers Modnar with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Modnar is looking to slow Dust down with leg kicks. Dust pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Modnar seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Modnar looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. That kick from Modnar tenderised Dust's leg. Dust is trying to keep his angry face on. Dust wants to land a leg kick but Modnar is out of range. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Dust has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Dust throws a push kick but Modnar slaps the foot to one side. Dust scoring well with a low kick there.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Dust avoids a kick to the body.
Dust takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Modnar ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Dust shoots in looking for a takedown. Modnar tries to sprawl out of it but Dust keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Modnar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Modnar takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Dust scores with a jab to the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dust fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dust darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Modnar trying to control but Dust postures up.
Modnar tries to get to full guard but Dust has control of the leg. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dust sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Modnar defending well though. Modnar has hold of Dust's hands but Dust slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Dust has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dust is stalling here. Modnar is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dust seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Modnar has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dust tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Modnar wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Modnar working the ground and pound. Modnar working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Dust is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Modnar wants to control but Dust is keeping him busy. Dust is trying to control Modnar's posture but Modnar avoids it. Modnar postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Dust is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Modnar sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Dust is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Dust is not content to let Modnar control the position. Dust manages to work his way to half guard, despite Modnar's best efforts. Dust keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Dust moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Dust keeping moving, preventing Modnar from controlling successfully. Dust looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Modnar is pushing down on Dust's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dust is fighting to maintain full guard but Modnar has managed to sneak the leg through. Dust is looking for a sweep. Modnar is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dust wants to control but Modnar is keeping busy.
Still in half guard, Modnar seems content to control. Modnar working the head and body with strikes. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Modnar connects with a nice short shot to Dust's temple. Modnar not doing much here.
Dust tries to get to full guard but Modnar has control of the leg. Modnar is trying to control the action in half guard but Dust is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Dust looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Star Dust will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!

It looks like Elijah Modnar has been cut. Dust avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Dust looks to land a right hand but Modnar moved out of range. Modnar takes a swing at Dust's ribcage but misses. Dust tries a quick counter leg kick but Modnar is wise to it. A solid leg kick lands there for Modnar.
A low kick from Modnar misses and Dust counters with a straight right hand. Modnar throws a wild body kick that Dust sees coming a mile off. Dust throws a big counter head kick but Modnar avoids it with no problem. A big left from Modnar misses. Dust throws a right and a left that both miss. Modnar scores with a hook to the body. Dust takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Modnar throws a jab when Dust was well out of range. Modnar lunges at Dust with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Dust's hand. Star Dust seems to be getting the better of the standup. This has been an exciting period of action! Modnar takes a swing at Dust's ribcage but misses. Modnar takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Modnar avoids the head kick by Dust.
Modnar pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Dust throws a head kick that half lands.
Elijah Modnar is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Modnar buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Dust moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Dust is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Modnar. Dust takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Modnar scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Modnar misses with a looping right. Dust steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. A bone on bone clash there as Dust blocks the leg kick.
A little jabbing left from Dust on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Modnar throws a hook but Dust avoids it easily. Dust wants to land a leg kick but Modnar is out of range. Elijah Modnar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dust throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Modnar. Modnar misses with an uppercut
and Dust counters with a left to the body. Dust avoids the body shot from Modnar.

Dust looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Dust tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Modnar connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Dust shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Dust trying to control the position from guard on top but Modnar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dust passes into half guard. Modnar moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Modnar wants to sweep but no luck. Modnar utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Modnar looking to control.
Star Dust has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dust throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Modnar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Modnar wants to sweep but no luck. Dust is looking to pass into half guard but Modnar pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Modnar is in guard. Modnar slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Dust is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Modnar defends well. Dust is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Modnar is aware though and is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Dust keeping moving, preventing Modnar from controlling successfully. Modnar is working Dust over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Modnar throwing strikes but missing. Modnar scoring with some ground and pound. Dust is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Modnar keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dust's head. Dust has his foot on Modnar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Modnar works his way back into a safe position though. Dust keeping moving, preventing Modnar from controlling successfully. Modnar is in close to Dust's body, working some short punches and elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Star Dust will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Elijah Modnar's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

and Modnar counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Dust staying out of range there. Dust tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Modnar is able to avoid easily. Dust throws a shot from downtown. Modnar moves away and avoids it. Modnar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dust moves away. Dust feints the counter takedown. Modnar looks to throw the jab but Dust is out of range. Dust is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Dust checks a leg kick. Dust lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Modnar tries to clinch up but Dust circles away and keeps his distance. Dust fails to land the takedown. Modnar misses with a straight left.

and Modnar makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Dust takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Dust counters with a body kick. Modnar takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Dust lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Modnar needs to keep his hands up - Dust had a free shot at his head there. Dust misses with a low kick.

Modnar throws a leg kick which misses Dust's front leg but catches the back leg as Dust tries to avoid it. Dust misses with a looping right. Nice defenses there by Dust. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Modnar displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dust throws out the jab. Dust lands with a thumping leg kick.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Star Dust. Well Dust has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
