Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clinton Offley! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Barney Gumble! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Offley gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily letting Gumble counter with a right hand.
It looks like Clinton Offley has been cut. A cross from Gumble lands. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Offley. Gumble looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Offley fails with a takedown attempt. Despite the aggression on Gumble's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Gumble ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Gumble stuffs the takedown. Offley shoots and misses and Gumble counters with a nice uppercut. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Offley is defended easily by Gumble.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gumble is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Offley. Offley tries to counter with a takedown but Gumble is quick to defend against it. Offley walks into a left hand. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Horrible takedown attempt by Offley or perhaps it was just good defense by Gumble, which made it look bad. It seemed like Gumble was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He's pushed Offley's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Offley tries to pull guard but Gumble forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Gumble lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Offley backwards. Offley has been working on his balance at Planet Granite, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Gumble. Offley has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gumble uses from the top position. Gumble is looking to stand up but Offley won't let him. Gumble has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Gumble is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Gumble got a little sloppy there for a moment and Offley has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! A relieved looking Barney Gumble thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
