PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Myoto Lachida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Master Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Myoto Lachida has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Myoto Lachida seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wong throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lachida tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wong is in Lachida's guard.

Wong keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lachida's head.

My spies in Montreal Elite Gym inform me that Wong has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Lachida.

Wong just trying to survive but Lachida is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Lachida will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Wong wants to control his opponent's hands but Lachida gets his hands free.

Lachida has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Wong has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wong rolls, trying to escape but Lachida keeps control of the position.

Wong manages to reverse the position and now he's in Lachida's guard. Nice work there by Wong.

Lachida throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Wong escapes and throws Lachida's legs to the side, diving into side control!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Wong looks up at the clock and then as Lachida takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Wong smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Master Wong dominated that round.
That's time! Lachida's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Lachida shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wong as he jumps to the side.

A less than humble Master Wong misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
