Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lindsey Roach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lindsey Roach! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jan Kowalski! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kowalski fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Roach to the ground. Kowalski is now in Roach's guard. Kowalski gets to his feet. Roach looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Jan Kowalski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Roach tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kowalski manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Kowalski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Roach is fending him off so far but Kowalski persists. Nope, Roach circles away and we're back to standing. Roach is looking to counter the offense by Kowalski and move into the clinch. Roach tries to clinch but Kowalski moves out of range. Roach sets himself, and Kowalski steps forward looking for the clinch! Roach avoids it this time. Kowalski throws a wild body kick that Roach sees coming a mile off. A quick step to the side and Roach tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Kowalski has managed to clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Roach's face as he tries to break the clinch. Roach wants to get back to striking at distance but Kowalski won't allow it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kowalski tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Roach smiles and moves away.
Roach is looking to clinch but Kowalski is avoiding it.
Kowalski is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Kowalski takes the fight into the clinch. Kowalski gets a trip takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roach looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Kowalski seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Roach might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kowalski is looking to advance position but Roach won't allow it. Kowalski trying to control the pace. Kowalski not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kowalski throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kowalski trying to control the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kowalski tries to pass to full mount but Roach defends it. Kowalski is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Roach is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kowalski scores with a couple of nice shots. Kowalski seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Roach tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kowalski swivels and escapes. Roach blocks a head kick by Kowalski.
Kowalski shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jan Kowalski dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kowalski looks to land a combination but Roach avoids it well. Kowalski closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kowalski has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Well, if Kowalski is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kowalski seems to be looking for submissions.
Kowalski in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Roach tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Kowalski!
