The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makatua misses with a head kick.
Gibson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Gibson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Dynamite Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Makatua throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Gibson moves out of range of the body kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Makatua, right into the meat.
Makatua throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Makatua lands a leg kick that knocks Gibson off balance momentarily.
Sam Makatua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've been informed that Makatua has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Gibson scores a flash knockdown with a right hook that drops Makatua to his hands and knees! The ref pushes Gibson away as he looks to land an illegal blow. Makatua got an extra few seconds to recover there, which could have made all the differences as he stumbles back to his feet. The referee looks into his eyes and decides to allow the bout to continue. Can he survive?!

Makatua is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Makatua is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Makatua is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Gibson takes it!

Dean Gibson really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Urban Fighter logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
