Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lamont Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Fairweather (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lamont Chase!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Fairweather!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chase misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Fairweather.
Fairweather will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Chase is looking to counter the offense by Fairweather and move into the clinch.

and Chase moves into the clinch.
Lamont Chase has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Fairweather.
Fairweather is looking to break free of the clinch but Chase has double underhooks.

Chase ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Chase no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Chase throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chase is looking for a triangle but Fairweather pushes his legs off easily.
Fairweather won't allow Chase to sweep him here.

Chase manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fairweather manages to get himself to full guard.

Chase tries to stand but Fairweather is controlling from the bottom.
Chase really is a fat lump.

Chase gets to his feet - Fairweather follows without any prompting.

Fairweather instigates a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Fairweather decides to pull guard.
Fairweather trying to control the position.

Fairweather working for a triangle but Chase defends it easily.
Chase in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chase chips away with some ground and pound.
Chase throwing strikes but missing.
Fairweather is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fairweather looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Chase puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Chase is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fairweather is just riding it out for now. Chase eventually gives up the hold.
Chase is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Chase thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Fairweather wants to get back to full guard.
Fairweather is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Chase looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Fairweather.
Chase tries to counter with a takedown but Fairweather is quick to defend against it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lamont Chase dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Chase tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fairweather was well out of range. Poor timing from Chase.
Fairweather with the counter takedown but Chase avoids it easily.
Chase will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Fairweather is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Fairweather connects with a nice looking jab.


It looks like Lamont Chase has been cut.
Chase just misses with a punch to the body.
As Chase backs off Fairweather throws a huge counter combo but Chase manages to avoid it all.
Horrible takedown attempt by Fairweather or perhaps it was just good defense by Chase, which made it look bad.

Fairweather gets in close and instigates a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fairweather is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Chase is keeping busy.

Chase has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Fairweather uses from the top position.

Chase has his foot on Fairweather's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fairweather works his way back into a safe position though.
Fairweather is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Chase is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fairweather can do to turn this around?
Fairweather looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Chase with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Fairweather tries to pass to full mount but Chase defends it.
Chase is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Fairweather jumps into side control!

Chase regains half guard there - taking advantage of Fairweather's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Chase wants to get back to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Chase is defending against the submission attempts here by Fairweather.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Fairweather decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Fairweather is trying to control. Chase wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Bruce Fairweather showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Lamont Chase's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Chase slaps away a takedown attempt from Fairweather, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Fairweather closes the distance and clinches up with Chase, looking for a takedown. Fairweather pushes Chase against the cage but Chase circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Chase looks to score with a jab to the body but Fairweather is just out of range.

Fairweather tries to pull guard but Chase holds him up against the cage and eventually Fairweather drops back down to his feet.
Lamont Chase has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Fairweather.
Fairweather takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Chase breaks the clinch.
Chase stuffs the takedown attempt from Fairweather. Fairweather gets slowly back to his feet.
As Fairweather tries to get set, Chase tries to push him back and clinch up but Fairweather manages to avoid the attempt.

Chase is pushing Fairweather up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Fairweather wants to stall.

Fairweather prevents a takedown attempt there.

Chase breaks the clinch.

Fairweather moves into the clinch successfully.
Chase pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Chase throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Chase manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Fairweather prevents Chase from breaking the clinch.

Chase leaves Fairweather with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Chase seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Chase just misses with a punch to the body.
Fairweather takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Chase throws a series of punches but Fairweather moves out of range.
Fairweather is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

and Chase counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Chase.
Fairweather avoids a wild elbow strike from Chase.
Fairweather is looking for a takedown.
Chase has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Fairweather after a bit of a struggle.
Chase fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Chase lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Fairweather backwards.

Chase gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Chase is nestled in close to Fairweather, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Fairweather keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Chase throws a strike but Fairweather avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Well Chase has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
