Walker has chosen Top Cats - Red Light Spells Danger as his entrance music. Jay Walker is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy McLarnin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Walker!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McLarnin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Walker misses with a double jab
and Walker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Walker ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McLarnin moves away.
It looked like McLarnin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Walker throws a right hand that misses
and McLarnin counters with a lovely straight right hand!
McLarnin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Walker.
McLarnin throws a body shot but no joy.
Walker changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Jay Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Walker just misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McLarnin lands a right hook to the body.
McLarnin avoids the body shot from Walker.
McLarnin throws a big counter combination but Walker scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Walker takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
We've been told by McLarnin's head coaches at Roosters Coop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Walker fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches McLarnin on the side of the head.

McLarnin takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Walker misses with an uppercut

and McLarnin counters with a big uppercut that knocks Walker off his feet! McLarnin dives into side control looking to finish!
Walker tries to bench press McLarnin off him but McLarnin keeps the position.
Walker is trying to escape the position but McLarnin is controlling the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McLarnin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Walker knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

McLarnin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

and McLarnin counters with a nice uppercut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
