Kowalski is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Kontra K - Wölfe. Shayne Castaneda had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Kowalski, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Castaneda looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kowalski is fending him off so far but Castaneda persists. Nope, Kowalski circles away and we're back to standing.
Castaneda will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kowalski scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

It looks like Shayne Castaneda has been cut.
Castaneda darts in trying to clinch
and Kowalski counters with a left and a right that stings Castaneda.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kowalski throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Castaneda on the side of the head.
Castaneda tries to close the distance and clinch but Kowalski swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kowalski circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kowalski is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kowalski rushes Castaneda with punches - Castaneda moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Castaneda goes down! Kowalski follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
