Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Jayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregory Scarpa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jayne comes to the cage accompanied by Special Ed - I'm The Magnificent. Gregory Scarpa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
25 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Patrick Jayne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gregory Scarpa!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jayne tries to bum rush Scarpa with a series of wild strikes but Scarpa uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And Scarpa tries to counter it with a takedown but Jayne pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Scarpa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jayne sprawls well. Jayne wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Scarpa gets slowly back to his feet.
Jayne seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Scarpa closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jayne circles away.

Scarpa's coach down at The Shield was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Scarpa's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Scarpa has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jayne is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Scarpa.

Patrick Jayne decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
