Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eric Carver!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James tests Carver's chin there with a solid looking shot.


It looks like Eric Carver has been cut.
Carver looks for a takedown but James sprawls well.
Carver looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

James takes the fight into the clinch.
James misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Carver is looking for a takedown up against the cage. James gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Joy James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Carver.
Carver tries to pull guard but James won't allow it.

James escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
James swings for the body but Carver moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Oooooh!!! Carver has knocked James down with a huge combo! Carver steps away and waves a wobbly James back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


It looks like Joy James has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
James catches Carver with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Carver moves out of range as James strikes.
James throws a right hand that misses

and Carver counters with a crisp one two that drops James! Carver thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves James to his feet! James is in big trouble!


James is rocked!

James misses with a looping right.
James waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Carver.
Carver avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Carver wants to counter the offense by James and move into the clinch position.
Carver tries to clinch up but James circles away and keeps his distance.
Carver shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as James sprawls well. James wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Carver gets slowly back to his feet.
Carver is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
James cracks Carver with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Carver looks for a takedown but James sprawls well.
James loads up on a big right hand but Carver slips the punch.
Carver's hands are dropping dangerously low here and James connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Carver scrambles back to his feet.

Carver tries to pull guard but James won't allow it.

Carver is trying to work for a single leg takedown but James pulls him back up using the underhooks.

James throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Carvers head.

Carver jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as James walks away with a smile on his face. Carver gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Carver takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

James gets in close and instigates a clinch.

James misses with a punch to the body.
Carver blocking some punches.
James lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Carver backwards.
Carver is trying to force a seperation but James has the dominant position.
James misses with a short punch on the inside.
James presses Carver against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Carver is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
James tries a body shot but Carver blocks it.
James has a couple of punches blocked by Carver.
James misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Carver has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. James is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Carver breaks the clinch.
James jabs at Carver's body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts James, as that shot connected.

Carver goes for a double leg but James avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as James continues to drive forward.
