The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palmar tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hardwood swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hardwood fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Charlotte Hardwood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Palmar fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hardwood on the side of the head.
Hardwood fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Palmar stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Charlotte Hardwood. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hardwood looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Palmar!

Hardwood has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hardwood cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Hardwood has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Hardwood landing strikes from the mount and Palmar is in trouble!

Palmar has left one of his arms exposed and Hardwood doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Palmar screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
