Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ben Gontier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuuga Ikeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yuuga Ikeda looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ben Gontier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yuuga Ikeda!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ikeda has a takedown stuffed.
Gontier feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Gontier throws a sloppy head kick and Ikeda moves out of range easily.
Gontier walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Ikeda checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Gontier pushes Ikeda up against the cage in a clinch.
Gontier definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Ikeda has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Gontier is trying to keep an underhook but Ikeda manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Gontier manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Ikeda keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Gontier changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ikeda fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Gontier counters with a stiff right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gontier ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ikeda moves away.
Ikeda throws a sloppy head kick and Gontier moves out of range easily.

Gontier uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ikeda has time to react.

Gontier attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
It seemed like Ikeda was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Gontier leaves Ikeda with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Ikeda goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Ikeda tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gontier swivels and escapes.
Gontier sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Gontier bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
