Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Davy Bauwens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Tyson Jones enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Davy Bauwens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Jones!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones sizes up Bauwens with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Bauwens. Bauwens gets slowly back to his feet.
Jones lands a really nice looking cross but Bauwens seems unphased.

Bauwens closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jones to the mat! Jones manages to get full guard.
Jones is controlling Bauwens's posture.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Bauwens from controlling successfully.
Bauwens is fighting to break Jones's control of his arms but Jones is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Jones wants to stand up but Bauwens is controlling him.
Bauwens stays in close to Jones's body and controls the position.
Bauwens won't allow Jones to get back to his feet.
Bauwens is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Bauwens wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.

Bauwens is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Davy Bauwens just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Jones wants to clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
No luck for Bauwens with that takedown attempt.

and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Jones counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Davy Bauwens. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones stops a takedown attempt from Bauwens.
Jones wants to break free but Bauwens has control.
Jones wants to break the clinch but can't.
Bauwens drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jones gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Jones can't break the clinch.

Bauwens is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Bauwens has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jones avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Bauwens wants a takedown but no success here.
Bauwens is breathing heavily.
Bauwens is trying to drag Jones to the mat but Jones just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bauwens doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Jones makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Bauwens really felt that one!
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jones misses with a double jab.
Jones keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Jones has closed the distance and engaged Bauwens in a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Jones manages to break the clinch.

Jones pushes Bauwens up against the cage in a clinch.

Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bauwens blocks a head kick by Jones.
Bauwens misses with a takedown attempt

and Jones counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jones.
Jones wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Bauwens has him pressed against the cage.

Jones breaks from the clinch.
Bauwens with a lazy takedown attempt

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones escapes and gets back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jones thuds his right hand into Bauwens's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bauwens with a lazy takedown attempt
and Jones counters with a one-two to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyson Jones dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.


Bauwens is rocked!
Jones wants to stand up but Bauwens is controlling the position.
Oh Bauwens is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bauwens is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Bauwens seems to have got his legs back now.
Bauwens is refusing to be controlled, as Jones sits in half guard.
Bauwens is trying to control but Jones passes into side control!
Jones tries to stand but Bauwens is controlling his head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bauwens manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jones's best efforts.
Bauwens works his way to full guard. Good work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bauwens holds on and takes a little breather.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bauwens is proving hard to escape from.
Bauwens controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.

Jones stands and steps away. Bauwens gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Bauwens drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but Bauwens drags him back down.
Jones prevents Bauwens from moving into mount.

Bauwens thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Jones is trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bauwens asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Jones is letting Bauwens control him for a moment.
Jones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bauwens wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Jones pushes Bauwens away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bauwens gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
You can see the frustration on Jones's face as Bauwens controls the position.
Bauwens has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Jones is trying to stand and escape here. He's got onto all fours but that's just let Bauwens take his back! Uh oh - Bauwens has got a rear naked choke here! Jones is forced to tap! It's all over! One monent is all it takes in this sport!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Davy Bauwens!
