Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Geert Geerts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bread Panterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Panterson has chosen New Beginnings as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Geert Geerts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bread Panterson!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Geerts doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Panterson drives through with a takedown into guard.
Panterson wants to pass the guard but Geerts is keeping the position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Panterson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Geerts escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Panterson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Geerts is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Panterson is aware though and is defending well.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Panterson wants to control from the top but Geerts keeps moving.

Geerts can't keep his opponent in guard - Panterson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Panterson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Geerts is just riding it out for now. Panterson eventually gives up the hold.

Panterson uses his free foot to push down on Geerts's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Geerts.
Panterson lands a big shot there that rocks Geerts but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Geerts is looking to get to half guard.

Panterson has hold of Geerts's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Geerts manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Panterson has control of Geerts's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Geerts regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Panterson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Geerts. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Geerts has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Panterson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Geerts is trying to defend but Panterson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Geerts is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Geerts bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Geerts is really struggling to control Panterson but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Panterson throws a nice looking combination but Geerts bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Geerts drops down looking for a counter takedown but Panterson sprawls and moves away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Panterson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Geerts has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Geerts and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bread Panterson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Geerts's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Panterson dives in and grabs Geerts's left leg, looking for a takedown. Geerts pushes down on Panterson's head and hops out.
Geerts missing with a left hand there. Panterson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Panterson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Panterson swings for the body but Geerts moves out of range.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Geerts throws a low kick but it's checked well by Panterson.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Geerts pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Geerts tries a head kick but it misses.
Panterson blocks a head kick by Geerts.

Panterson looks for a takedown but Geerts sprawls well.
Geert Geerts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bread Panterson.

Bread Panterson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nice defenses there by Panterson.
Geerts swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Panterson with the counter takedown but Geerts avoids it easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Panterson closes the distance and clinches up with Geerts, looking for a takedown. Panterson pushes Geerts against the ropes but Geerts circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Geerts throws a shot from downtown. Panterson moves away and avoids it.
Panterson moves out of range as Geerts throws a body kick.
Geerts just misses with a punch to the body.
Panterson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Geerts defends it well.
Geerts misses with a head kick.
And Panterson tries to counter it with a takedown but Geerts pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight!
Geert Geerts showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Panterson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
