The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wad, pushing him back against the ropes.
Cross stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Cross wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wad has him pressed against the ropes.

Cross tries to break the clinch but Wad is controlling the position.

Cross doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Cross misses with the head strike.
Cross has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Cross blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Cross breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cross slips a straight right by Wad.
Cross connects with a looping right hand.
Cross lands with a nice body punch.
Cross misses the shot to the body.
Wad has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Cross finds it's way round the side to connect with Wad's head.

Cross paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Wad circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Cross. Wad falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Cross!

Magnus Cross was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
