Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Phil Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Pantera - Mouth For War. Kane has chosen Spiderman as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Dean Kane is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Phil Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dean Kane!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jonathan Paton and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kane is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kane doesn't manage to clinch there - Taylor circles away.
Taylor lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Dean Kane has been cut.
Kane fails with the takedown.
Taylor looks to land a left hand but Kane moved out of range nicely.
Kane blocks a head kick by Taylor.
Kane throws a series of strikes that have Taylor backpedaling.
Taylor has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Kane shoots in for a takedown but Taylor shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kane has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Planet Granite. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Kane thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Kane is pressing down on Taylor's thigh, looking to free his foot. Taylor is holding on for now.
Kane seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Kane thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Taylor wants to improve his position but Kane is controlling well.

Kane moves nicely into side control.
Taylor knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kane on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kane is working Taylor over with some ground and pound from side control.
Kane is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Taylor knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Kane is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Taylor has escaped the position, nice work there.
Kane is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Taylor is trying to escape and Kane transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Taylor is forced to tap! Nice work there by Kane! Very nice indeed!

In his post fight interview, Dean Kane started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
