Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Martin Riggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sick Puppy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
37 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Martin Riggs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Sick Puppy! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Puppy fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Riggs. Riggs lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Puppy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Riggs sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Puppy somewhat. Puppy throws a wild body kick that Riggs sees coming a mile off. Puppy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. An attempted straight right counter from Riggs misses the target. Riggs shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Riggs tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Puppy is able to avoid easily. Riggs sets himself, and Puppy steps forward looking for the clinch! Riggs avoids it this time. Puppy misses with a jab to the body
and Riggs counters with a nice uppercut. Puppy looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Riggs comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Riggs misses with a jab, cross combination.
Riggs lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Puppy connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Riggs gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Puppy looking to sit in guard and control but Riggs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Puppy has his foot on Riggs's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Riggs works his way back into a safe position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Puppy pulls Riggs in close to his closed guard and prevents Riggs from doing any damage or advancing position. Riggs has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Puppy is proving hard to escape from. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Puppy has his foot on Riggs's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Riggs works his way back into a safe position though. Puppy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Riggs's guard. Puppy wants to pass the guard but Riggs is keeping the position. Riggs looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Riggs pulls Puppy in to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Riggs keeping moving, preventing Puppy from controlling successfully. Puppy throws a big right hand that misses. Puppy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Puppy content to stall in guard here. Puppy works over Riggs with some ground and pound from guard. Puppy trying to control but Riggs is working from the bottom. Puppy postures up in Riggs's guard and throws a big left but Riggs blocks it. Puppy passes easily into side control. Nice work. Riggs is not content to let Puppy control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Puppy goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Riggs rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Puppy's guard! Nice work there by Riggs! Riggs pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Puppy is keeping the position for now. Riggs got a little sloppy there for a moment and Puppy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Riggs has managed to get both his arms back between Puppy's legs - danger averted. Puppy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Puppy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Puppy is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Riggs misses with a body kick. Puppy is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Riggs with a body shot. Riggs takes one to the side of the head.
Riggs takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Puppy misses with a body shot.
A quick step to the side and Riggs tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Martin Riggs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Good work by Puppy as he checks the leg kick. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Puppy, as that shot connected.
Puppy misses with a takedown attempt - Riggs sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Puppy lands a nice shot that snaps Riggs's head back.
Riggs slips a jab from Puppy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sick Puppy dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Puppy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Riggs's waist but Riggs gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Puppy off to one side. Puppy lands a lovely overhand right. Puppy throws out a powerful jab. Puppy with a body punch. A glancing blow. Puppy throws a hook but Riggs blocks it. Riggs misses with a leg kick. Puppy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Puppy dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Riggs. That did some damage! Riggs staying out of range there. Puppy moves out of range of the body kick from Riggs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Puppy takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Puppy connects with a good right hand that stumbles Riggs. Riggs circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Puppy staying out of range there. That's one minute gone in the round. Puppy throws a jab but it's blocked by Riggs. Sick Puppy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Riggs just misses with a punch to the body.
Nice defenses there by Riggs. Riggs takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Riggs throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Puppy gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Puppy dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Puppy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nice body kick from Riggs. Riggs swats away the attempt to clinch by Puppy. It looked like Riggs wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. A nice inside leg kick there by Riggs. That's going to slow Puppy down. A punch combination from Puppy misses. Puppy loads up on a big right hand but Riggs slips the punch. Riggs takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Puppy is looking to slow Riggs down with leg kicks. A big left from Puppy misses. Puppy walks into a jab. Puppy pushes Riggs away with a front kick. Riggs throws a leg kick which misses Puppy's front leg but catches the back leg as Puppy tries to avoid it. A big left from Riggs misses. Riggs lands a left and a right that send Puppy crashing to the mat, dazed. Riggs thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Puppy is rocked! Riggs fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Puppy to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Puppy looks to clinch but Riggs throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Puppy taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Martin Riggs! A less than humble Martin Riggs misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
