Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Preston Vinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Markov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fedor Markov will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fedor Markov! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Markov has closed the distance and engaged Vinson in a clinch.

Vinson tries to pull guard but Markov forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Vinson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Markov postures up in Vinson's guard and throws a big left but Vinson blocks it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Markov is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Markov tries to clinch but Vinson is having none of it. Markov doesn't succeed with the takedown and Vinson counters with a left and a right that stings Markov. Markov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vinson. Markov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Markov tries to free his leg and advance position but Vinson is retaining full guard. Markov shoots for a double leg takedown but Vinson sprawls well. He's pushed Markov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Vinson seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Markov fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vinson, pushing him back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Markov ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Markov no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Vinson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Markov wants to stand but Vinson is controlling the position. Markov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vinson is aware though and is defending well. Markov controls Vinson momentarily but Vinson frees himself. Vinson working some strikes from top position. Vinson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Vinson stopping the sweep attempt from Markov. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

and Vinson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Markov gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Vinson jumps guard but Markov stands there with Vinson around his waist. Vinson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Markov. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Markov trying to control but Vinson is working from the bottom.
